U3A Groups starting from April 2016
Pétanque has been added to the summer 'curriculum' for Harrogate U3A from April 2016.

Pétanque is nationally one of the most popular sports within U3A, with approaching 100 groups currently playing the sport across the country.

U3A have actively promoted Pétanque with a full page 'Focus' feature in their Spring magazine, and is strongly supported by national subject advisor, Andrew Lloyd.

This is a free activity for U3A members in Harrogate with groups playing on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 2.00pm to 4.00pm throughout the summer.

If you do not have a set of metal leisure boules, these can be hired form the Oxfam shop on Montpellier Hill for £1 per set (with £5 refundable deposit). They will also sell you a set of three matching boules in a bag for £10.

Groups will run from mid April on Monday and Wednesday afternoons through to September. You can join in at any time and play whenever you are able.

it is very enjoyable and sociable activity, so why not give it a try!
